Ensign-Bickford Industries, Inc. (EBI) was formed in 1971 as part of an evolution that began in Simsbury, Connecticut USA in 1836 with the creation of a manufacturing company that eventually became known at the beginning of the 20^th century as The Ensign-Bickford Company (EBCo). Today EBI is the parent company of such diverse subsidiaries as AFB International (AFB), a science and technology-based leader in pet food palatability, Ensign-Bickford Realty Corporation, a developer of business and office parks and Ensign-Bickford Aerospace and Defense Company (EBA&D). EBA&D provides innovative ordnance initiation systems for the aerospace and defense industries.

EBI also provides, on a contract for fee basis, many services for a number of its subsidiaries including accounting, human resources and information services.

EBI is a privately held company, its corporate offices are at 100 Grist Mill Road , P.O. Box 7 in Simsbury, CT 06070.
